Mairi Aitken graduated in drawing and painting from the Glasgow School of Art and, after gaining a teacher training diploma from Jordanhill College of Education, went on to teach in a number of schools, both in England and Scotland.
She exhibits widely throughout the U.K. in group and open exhibitions and has also had a number of solo shows in various galleries. Her work has been included in At Fairs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Battersea and Cannes.
A past President of The Glasgow Society of Women Artists, she exhibits regularly with them. She is also an artist member of The Paisley Art Institute where she has won a number of prizes.
Her work has been purchased by banks, schools and Councils and is in private collections throughout the U.K., Europe and the U.S.A.
