Julia Gurney studied at Bath Academy of Art (BA Hons Fine Art) and achieved an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art in 1980. She attended the Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris. Notable exhibitions have been the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (1981-89), the John Player Portrait Award Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery (1984) and the British Watercolour Exhibition at London’s Bankside Gallery (1984 -1989). Her work has been shown at the Wykeham Gallery in Stockbridge (Hants) and the Red Barn Gallery in Cumbria. She exhibits regularly at Paisley Art Institute, the Seagull Gallery Gourock and on scotlandart.com.
