Netta Hunter DA
Netta graduated in ceramics from Glasgow School of Art in 1971.
She taught art & design at Eastwood High School for eight years and was an Art Lecturer at Langside College, Glasgow, from 1980-2008 where she taught painting, ceramics and history of art.
Netta often includes pots by some of her favourite Scottish potters in her still life paintings. She is excited by the act of seeing and tries to capture the solidity of form, surface and the changing effects of light and colour.
She was a member of the Scottish Society of Women Artists (1972-84) and Glasgow Print Studio (1993-99) and has been a member of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists since 1994.
Group exhibitions include:
RSA Edinburgh / Paisley Art Gallery / Glasgow Airport / Macmillan ArtShow / House for an Art Lover, Scotland Street School, Mitchell Library, the Print Studio, the Art Club, Glasgow / Torrance Gallery, Edinburgh / Smith Gallery, Stirling / Maclaurin Art Gallery, Ayr.
Netta exhibits paintings, prints and ceramics and has work in public and private collections in UK, France and USA.
