Suzanne Le Blanc
Suzanne trained as a painter, studying at Liverpool Polytechnic, graduating from Reading University and completing a postgraduate diploma at the Slade School of Fine Art, winning a travel scholarship in her final year at the Slade.
She has worked in museum design for over 20 years including the development of major award winning museums Locomotion, National Railway Museum at Shildon and the Riverside Museum, Glasgow. She now works from a studio at home.
She works mainly in oils; but has also developed a body of work in pastel and charcoal taking inspiration from the landscape, the sea, weather and human intervention in that landscape using recollections and personal associations. She works abstractly with line and texture and colour relationships and doesn’t aim to create a specific landscape or place exactly, but to capture atmosphere and generic identity.
She has exhibited work in solo and group shows in Scotland, England and abroad, including being guest artist at the Stewartry Arts Guild Summer Exhibition and she has work in private and public collections.
